2 great weekends of estate sales and garage sales and even the Friday night Auction had some great stuff and good prices as the crowd was small....it was hard not to buy more but it wouldn't fit in my jeep..some of it was furniture..I would love to buy more furniture and refinish it but it is hard to store..
Storage is my problem right now...my house is too full of stuff and I need to get it to storage...my poor dogs have to maneuver around things but they do love to sniff out the new stuff...that is my plan for this week...we have a storage unit 10" x 20" with shelving so it is pretty organized right now...but also has a bunch of personal children christmas items in part of it....It is hard to pass up such good bargains that I find but getting the item listed and put in storage does take time especially since I am trying to get through the back up of stuff bought all winter....I know I eventually it just takes time...
So I bought a couple of books from Julie Morgenstern http://www.amazon.com/Julie-Morgenstern/e/B001IGQY78/ref=sr_tc_2_0?qid=1403450228&sr=8-2-ent about Time Management and Organizing and hope to read them and put it to work...I have a plan I just have to stick to it....
My husband hates those words "I have a plan" I said that when I quit my job, I say that when I buy furniture and large items, and I said that to him so that he could quit his annoying part time job at Advance Auto Parts....so glad he finally realized my plan can work Ha! Although he had to work overtime at his regular job several days this week so he hasn't seen the advantages of so many days off at home with me yet!
So a couple great things I found this week were
a Sikes vintage heavy office chair...does need a little TLC paid $7
a Lovell Pewter signed trivet paid $8 but worth it
2 vintage folding card tables for $2 each
my husband bought a Turner Flamingo mirror for $6
once I learn how to add pictures and links I will include them
So today I have to finish shipping things for tomorrow and try to list some things...I have been trying all week but I did have to take a break to garden in this beautiful weather
BusyBeagleBlog
Just a blog about fabulous vintage finds....found for just a few dollars...from auctions to estate sales to thrift shops....satisfies my love of shopping....even my husband loves to go on "shopping" for manly vintage items so it is something we can do together as we approach the golden years"...and I hope to pass these treasures on to someone who will love them again!

Backstory
I think when I turned 50 last year I was afraid my life was passing by and I was really not enjoying it...I went a yard sale one day and bought a seashell group of Pfaltzgraff dishes for one dollar....as I love seashells and anything beachy I brought it home and realized I had too many seashell items and not enough places to display them....So I looked on Ebay and saw that I could sell it for a nice profit...so began my new career. If I could do that with one item...why not 10 or 20 a week...I could make enough money to quit my retail job at a pharmacy where I had worked for 20 years...awful hours...working holidays and weekends....it had changed into a numbers game...how much profit can they make with the least amount of people and the least hours for them to work...I really disliked going to work every day even though it was not a hard job and parts of it I liked but the overall picture was sad....I had a plan to quit and sprung it on my poor husband....It was a solid plan but it took awhile for him to understand. I would use some of my 401K money that had accumulated over those years to pay off my debts..and then how much money I could make would be up to me and how well I could find vintage items for resale......Even though every financial advisor will tell you not to do this, It has been the best thing for me in my situation....I have felt much relief from being able to do this...Yes I have to pay a penalty but it is well worth it.. I can shop at estate sales and auctions and thrift shops and find lovely vintage items that have so much use left in them and pass them on to the next generation to enjoy...Every week is a new adventure....there is always something new to find, whether it is art, or pottery or china or clothing or mid century modern, there is so much out there to discover...I have learned many new things...met many new characters...and hope to keep working for myself....I hope to share some of these great vintage items and stories about them...As for the name BusyBeagleVintage...beagles are my favorite dog...I never had a pet growing up and was usually a little scared of dogs but when we got our first Beagle Henry as a young family...he was wonderful..I can not imagine not having a dog....after he passed on we couldn't live without a Beagle or 2...no now we have Bruce Willis (Brucey) and Rocky...they are so different from each other but they are my children now that mine have grown and left the nest....they love to sniff all the new treasures I bring home every week!
